When & how it all Started

2017

Regenize Started

Regenize was born from a simple yet powerful vision : to enable and encourage many imperfect zero-waste lifestyles across Africa by making zero-waste services accessible, inclusive, and ethical.

React Decentralization

2019

First Free Decentralised Recycling Collection (FRDC) pilot in Bridgetown

We began building relationships with local waste reclaimers, understanding their challenges 

2021

Launch of Remali

Introduction of Remali as a recycling rewards system.

Remali Launch
Launch of Zero Waste

2022

Launch of Zero Waste Spaza

A localized storefront initiative offering essential goods in exchange for Remali points, deepening community integration and increasing recycling participation. Supporting local shop owners and informal traders with zero-waste tools and income-generating opportunities.

2023

Introduction of React

(Recycling for the African Context), a decentralised micro-recycling hub model tailored for inclusivity, community, engagement and accessibility across Cape Town.

Expansion into broader offerings

Under Regenize, React moves into commercial and residential recycling services, enabling service contracts, larger-scale pickups and setting a strong foundation for scaling its model.
